DEATH COMES SUDDENLY TO MISS DUFFICY

Miss Veronica A. Dufficy, a prominent educator of Marin county, and a member of the San Rafael high school faculty and dean of the girls, died on Thursday night at a San Rafael hospital from a heart ailment.

One the evidences of the courage of this high minded loved woman, was exhibited when she had known she was suffering from a serious heart ailment, but kept the secret from the young people who surrounded her, whom the knowledge might sadden. She attended school on Wednesday, but was taken seriously ill in the evening. She was removed to a hospital where she died at 7 o'clock.

Miss Dufficy had numerous friends in Petaluma, who were saddened to learn of her sudden death.

Miss Dufficy was one of the outstanding educators of the state. She was considered an authority on Latin text books and served on the state text book committee before the books were supplied by the state. She was serving her thirty-first year as a member of the faculty of the San Rafael high school when death care. A graduate of the University of California, Miss Dufficy first taught for a few years in the south, but returned to San Rafael where her family lived, to teach in the high school.

The remains are at the mortuary of Keaton and Dusel, San Rafael. The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday from the mortuary, thence to St. Raphael's church, where mass will be celebrated.

Miss Dufficy, who was a native of Marysville, California, was the daughter of the late judge and Mrs. M.C. Dufficy and the sister of Mrs. Mary L. Tormey, Sister M. Michael, Dr. George W. Dufficy, Mrs. W. P. Barry, Charles M. Dufficy, Mrs. Alicia D. Fiedlander, Mrs. Horatio Muzzy and Dr. Rafael G. Dufficy, of San Rafael.
