Steven R. Burke, 53, of West End, New Jersey, died Saturday (December 20, 2003) at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Born in New Britain, CT. on Jul. 19, 1950 son of the late John and Shirley (Bentley) Burke, he was raised in Southington, CT. and had lived in New Jersey for over 25 years. A graduate of Southington High School, class of 1968, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Steve owned and operated National Dealers Services in Manasquan, NJ, a professional car detailing and reconditioning service.
Surviving is his brother, John "Jack" Burke and his wife Pam of Castle Rock, CO; four aunts, Winifred Brown and her husband Earl of Southington; Barbara Akehurst and her husband Dale of Kensington; Carol Hutchinson of Berlin; and Carolyn Burke of Danvers, MA; a niece and nephew, Jamie Feth and her husband T.J. and Ryan Burke all of Colorado; and several cousins including Sandra Brown of Plantsville. He also leaves several close friends in NJ including Mindy and Carl Broadbent of Ocean Port, NJ.
