CAVE-IN-ROCK, Ill. — Funeral services for Jewel C. "C Bud" Sims Jr., 83, of Cave-in-Rock will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct, 2, 2013, at Potters Church. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave-in-Rock with military rites conducted. The Rev. Larry Lewis and the Rev. Arthur Austin Jr. will officiate.
Mr. Sims died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at his home.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Sims; three daughters, Debora Wheeler, Rose Mary Davenport and Beverly Jo Sandefur; one son, David Sims; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Glendal Sims; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Sims; three sisters; and one great-granddaughter. His parents were Jewel C. Sims Sr. and Maude Karner Sims.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at the church.
Hardin County Funeral Services, Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
