Betty was born in Fairwell, Michigan on October 8, 1930. She had three brothers and three sisters. Betty enjoyed life as a young child living in Michigan and often told stories of her experiences living in the "Upper Peninsula" where the winters were so harsh. She was 13 years old when her family moved to Craig, Colorado.

In 1946 she married Dale Carlson. Dale had just returned from his Air Force duty serving in Germany during WWII. Their union produced a daughter, Billie Dale Kiger (Jim), a son, Garold Gene Carlson (Mary) and second daughter, Janie Fern Echols (Roy). They had many happy years together before going their separate ways.

Betty married her "soul mate" a very special man named Charles B. Snapp in 1979. "Snapp" adored the four children Betty brought into the marriage Renee' Schaefer, Monee' Farkosoky (Eric), Marc Schaefer (Kathy) and Michelle Tindall (Richard). He was so proud of all his kids and loved all of them very much. Betty and "Snapp" spent nearly 35 happy years together.

She loved to cook especially bake pies, they were the best. Betty also loved to crochet, sew, ceramic, go fishin' and read. She especially adored just spending time with her many grandchildren. Betty always had a wonderful and positive attitude and will always be remembered for her sweet smile full of the biggest dimples around!
