Beverly "June" Griffin, 83, of New Castle, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Henry County Hospital.
She was born July 12, 1930, in Rushville to the late Curby and Alta (Jessup) Browning.
June retired from Copeland in Rushville and her later years was a caregiver for the elderly. She was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church in New Castle. June enjoyed working puzzles, word searches and was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
Survivors include her children, Kathy Turner of New Castle, Frank (Theresa) Griffin of Shelbyville, Roger (Deanna) Griffin of Greenfield, Sue Rowell of Alabama, Sara (Delbert) Rice of Florida; grandchildren, Kodey (Katelyn) Griffin of Rushville, Natasha (Doug) Merrick of Trafalger and Philip Wells of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren, Easton, Ian, Bowen, Christian Merrick, all of Trafalger; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Griffin; son, Paul Steven Griffin; sister, Jean Bailey.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at Christ United Methodist Church in New Castle with Mel Mozingo officiating. Friends may call from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Christ United Methodist Church, 1741 Columbus St., New Castle, IN 47362.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
