SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - In loving memory of Richard "Dick" Manning Grimes, 72, of Scottsdale, passed away on September 27, 2013.

Dick was born on October 6, 1940 in St. Joseph, and graduated from University of Missouri with his graduate degree in Clinical Psychology.

He raised his family in Marshalltown, Iowa, and served as the Executive Director for the Mental Health Center of Mid-Iowa.

Dick moved to Scottsdale, where he enjoyed dancing, golfing, and socializing with friends, participating in two dining out groups.

Dick's list of friends and colleagues grew through his involvement with the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, Monday Night Traders group, the Board for McCormack Ranch Homeowners Association (Vice President), and the real estate community in Scottsdale.

He will be greatly missed by all who have been blessed by knowing him.

Dick is survived by his wife, Jeanene, of 50 years; daughter, Renee and Denny; daughter, Jan and Don; daughter, Jennifer and Sam; daughter, Jodi; sisters, Penny and Dee; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He had a passion for his beloved dog, Gigi, who preceded him in death.

Services will be held from 3-4 p.m. Friday, October 4 at Messenger Indian School Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to LuckyDogRescue.org in honor of Gigi.
