Red was born on March 25, 1935 in Torrington, Wyoming the son, and oldest of seven children, of John Henry, Sr and Lola Marie (Groves) Hickman. He grew up and received his education; graduating from Huntley High School in 1954.
Red was employed at R & M Lumber/Century Lumber Company for 47 years. He loved hunting, fishing, sports, carpentry work, telling jokes and he enjoyed working on lawn mowers. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and community.
Red is survived by his daughters, Brenda Hickman and Becky (David) Grimm of Cheyenne, Wyoming; three brothers, Earl "Gene" (Lois) Hickman, John "Jack" Hickman and Robert "Bob" (Betty) Hickman; one sister, Lola "Lynn" Eitzen; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Elizabeth Banta, one brother, Arthur Hickman and his long time companion, Arlene Hariman.
