Yvonne O. Fletcher Rooney, a retired licensed practical nurse, died Sunday of an aneurysm at her home. She was 89. Mrs. Rooney was born in Isabel and lived in Covington for the past 60 years. She worked at Dr. Thomas Healy's office, St. Tammany Parish Hospital and Highland Park Hospital. She was a member of the Young at Heart Club at First Baptist Church of Covington. Survivors include three sons, William Marion Fletcher, Harold Robert Fletcher and Joseph Arthur Fletcher; two daughters, Lucille Fletcher Pellegrin and Yvonne O. Fletcher King; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be Wednesday at noon at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Louisiana 1085. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Covington City Cemetery. Bagnell & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
