HALLOCK, Minn. - Ruth Dockin, 90, Hallock, died at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center, Hallock, Wednesday, June 1, 2005.
Ruth Aileen Franks was born in Hallock on June 19, 1914, the daughter of John and Margaret (Timms) Franks. She grew up at Humboldt, and graduated from Humboldt High School.
On Oct. 15, 1933 she was united in marriage to Alfred Dockin at Humboldt. They settled in Donaldson, and lived there until 1942 when they moved to Hallock. Ruth worked at the Farmers Store in Hallock for 20 years, retiring in 1976. Alfred died in 1997. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Family members include two daughters, Donna Mae (Hartvick) Olson, Clifford, and Yvonne (Duane) Carriere, Hallock; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred; a daughter, Val Jean and a son, Dwayne; two brothers, George and Loren and a sister, Laura.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 4, 2005, 10:30 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Rev. Phil Tobin, presided; Karissa Dennis was organist; Jillayne Kraska and Karen Vold, duet.
Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Carriere, Deon Carriere, Christopher Carriere, Nicholas Carriere, Paul Clay and Conrad Dahl. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.
Adamson-Austin-Hughes assisted the family with arrangements.
