Gary S. Miller, 48, of Sioux City died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Timothy J. Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mr. Miller was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., the son of Solomon A. and Lorraine L. (Johnson) Miller. He received his degree in mechanical engineering from Western Iowa Tech Community College.

He married Molli A. Braunger on March 24, 1983, in Sioux City. He was employed as a drafter with McCracken Concrete Pipe Machinery Co. for the last 13 years.

He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, National Rifle Association and National Hot Rod Association. He was a sports car enthusiast. He was a machinist and loved working on cars. He also loved to read.

Survivors include his wife, Molli of Sioux City; two daughters, Mary Stack and Connie Miller, both of Sioux City; two grandsons, Alex Stack and Nicolas Miller, both of Sioux City; three brothers and their wives, Larry and Natalie Arkfeld of Yreka, Calif., Jim and Charlotte Arkfeld of Los Banos, Calif., and Frank and Theresa Arkfeld of Flower Mound, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Michael, Tommy and Ronald Arkfeld.

Pallbearers will be Heath Torno, Henry Groendyk, Fred Corbin, Tom Stack, Mike Ruble and Bill Mace.
