Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. EST today at Independent Funeral Home in Quincy.

He was a lifelong resident of Gadsden County. He served in the Army Air Corp. with the 343rd Airbourne Squadron during World War II in the Philippines and Japan and 13 campaigns during the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of Glenn Julia United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, a grandson and a sister.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Gunn, a daughter, Ann Gunn, and a grandson, Sean Gunn.
