Former 46 Fairfield Ave. resident, Gordon E. Ball, 71, of 5271 W. Liberty TR 156, Kansas, was killed in a traffic accident in Huron County, US 224 west of Willard, at 7:59 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998.
He was born in West Lodi, July 27, 1927, to John Bernard and Grace Ellen (Moyer) Ball. On April 7, 1950, in St. John's United Church of Christ, Tiffin, he married Anna L. Kirchner. She preceded him in death Oct. 31, 1985.
Survivors include: a son, Alan E. Ball of Kansas, with whom he had resided for the past five years; two grandchildren; Alan E. Ball Jr. and Charlotte Dunfee; a brother, William Ball of Bucyrus; and two sisters, Evelyn Reitz of Bucyrus and Gladys Lennhoff of Fremont.
Also preceding him in death were his son, Robert E. Ball, daughter-in-law and her children, who was killed in the same traffic accident; six brothers, Ardra ''Art,'' John, Howard, James, Clifford and Leonard Ball; and three sisters, Mildred Gruhn, Myrtle Ball and Etta Williams.

Pastor Herbert T. Hill will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Tuesday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veteran's Council.
Visitation at the funeral home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and one hour before the service on Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
