Luke was born in Mississippi and the family later moved to Tennessee. He married Eula around 1915. In a 1920 Census Marlin was 2 1/2 and Wes, Eula's widowed brother and two children James and Lucille were living with them in Tennessee.
By 1930 they were living in Arkansas and had Marlin, Mable, Dorothy, Arnold, and Verelene. Wonderful memories of cousins. Luke built a cabin on the property. They had a garden, pigs, chickens and a cow. Grandma Rhodie and Squire Morse lived in a house on the property. Grandpa raised peanuts and sold them. Fannie and Earlie remember visiting in the summer and all piling on the back of a flat bed truck and riding to church. By 1940 they had moved to Gray County Texas.
