He married Mary Louise Bishop on March 1, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. This marriage was blessed with four children: Patricia Ann (Terry) Tippetts, Lynn Bishop (Becky, deceased) Wiggill, Marilyn Kay (Merl) Thurgood and Richard Bradley Wiggill. He was preceded in death by Mary who passed away on December 23, 1985.
He married June Elaine Gould on December 22, 1989 in Coalville, Utah. Added to the family were June's children: Stephanie (Terry) McDade and Wyatt (Beargette) Dawn.
Derrah attended Davis County Schools. He faithfully served in the Southern States Mission. He served in the Army Air Corp. in WWII as a member of the 483rd Bomber Group H, flying B-17 missions out of Italy. He was a long-time member of the Davis County Sherriff's Mounted Posse, serving in several leadership positions.
He retired from HAFB in 1975 with 33 years of service, but his true life's love was the family farm in Layton.
Derrah is survived by his wife, June, children, 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
