Explorer. He was a mariner, who, after facing the dangers of five voyages to the East Indies, saw service under George Rodney, rear Admiral of the Blue Squad. He went on to secure the capture of the town of Havannah, Cuba and Moro castle, under the leadership of Sir George Pocock, Admiral of the Blue Squadron.
