Leon "Tunney" Franklin BeDell, 87, Oaktown, passed away Monday September 30, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Leon was born July 26, 1926 in Fritchton, the son of Leon Wallace and Cora Lee (Gee) BeDell.

He married Mary Alice Chambers on December 23, 1950, and she survives him.

He worked for Crane in the maintenance department for 22 years. He was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church and a former church Deacon.

He also served in the United States Army.

Leon is survived by his daughter, Drenna Trosper of Oaktown; sons David BeDell and his wife Debbie of Freelandville, Dennis BeDell and his wife Lisa of Oaktown, and Doug BeDell and his wife Sandy of Springhill, FL; grandchildren Donnie BeDell, Dustin BeDell, Brittany Evans, Jeremy BeDell, Lauren BeDell, and Jordan BeDell; great-grandchildren Donna BeDell, Ava BeDell, and Emma Hobbs; and sisters Betty Smith of Oaktown and Lois Tretter of Georgetown, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents; son Daniel BeDell; brother Jim BeDell; sister Stacy Bennett; and grandchild Zach Evans.

The family will receive friends on Thursday October 3, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Oaktown Chapel with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM also at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Tessmer officiating and burial following at the Oaktown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Village Nursing Home.
