Bruce R. Brooks, age 60, of Woodhaven, Mich., formerly of Tazewell, was born September 14, 1945 and passed away on September 16, 2005 at University of Michigan Hospital at Ann Arbor.
U.S. Army Reserve 70th division, Veteran of Desert Storm, attended Blairs Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father: Richard C. Brooks; grandmother: Allie Mae Dobbs Brooks.
Survived by wife: Mrs. Margaret Ann Brooks of Woodhaven, Mi; son and daughter-in-law: Bruce Richard (Rich) Brooks II and Cassandra (Marie) of South Rockwood, Mi; son: Bryan Randolph (Randy) Brooks of Woodhaven, Mi; grandchild: Alexandra Marie Brooks of South Rockwood, Mi; mother: Francis Marie Thompson of Tampa Bay, Fl; half brothers: Larry Brooks of Morristown; Hobart Bryant of Tampa Bay, Fl; half sisters: Pam Bussell of Tazewell, Sheila Kruzel of Toledo, Oh; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; close friend's: Jerry Mullins and Jim and Edna Sandefur.
Funeral services were Tuesday, September 20 at 5 p.m. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with Rev. Travis Chumley officiating. Songs by the Liberty Quartet. Burial in the Cave Springs Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers: Clarence Ellison, Mike Campbell, George Lewis, Marvin Taylor, William Lewis, Pete Aponoves. Honorary pallbearers: Clyde Caylor, Joe Tyler Duncan, James Perry, Jerry Mullins, Roy Payne, Kenneth Brooks, and Ronald Massengill.
