Graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1967. Joe was an Eagle Scout. He was a Navy Hospitalman (Corpsman) in Corpus Christi, Texas during the Vietnam era but served his time stateside. Attended nursing school but ended up working for the City of Kansas City, Missouri as an Aviation Safety Officer and Fire Dispatcher. Was on duty and took the call when six firefighters were killed in the explosion along 71 Highway on November 29, 1988 in Kansas City. Joe was my brother. Joe left a daughter, Cecelia Anne "Toots" Brown who was eleven years old. He loved her dearly.
