Joe Edward Blair of Social Circle, GA died Sunday September 29, 2013 at Clearview Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 8, 1930 in Thomaston, GA to Allen C and Mary Louise Wacter Blair.
He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed listening to gospel music especially Gaithers. He and his wife visted nursing homes to minister to the residents. He worked on several mission projects and spent the night with residents at a homeless shelter near Atlanta. He was an active member of Zion Baptist Church for eleven years and most recently a member of First Baptist Church of Social Circle.
Mr. Blair is survived by His loving wife of 43 years Marie P. Blair; son Ken Michael Blair of Social Circle, GA.; brother James Allen Blair and Nephew John Allen Blair of Dacula, GA.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father Mary and Allen Blair and his brother Ernest C. Blair.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Reverends Reese Sanders and Mike Hardy officiating. Interment will be at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
