Bertha Dalton Lawson, 71, of Martinsville, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, N.C.
Born Oct. 14, 1932, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Roby Farmer and the late Mary Ethel Dalton Farmer. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman and William Eugene "Buddy" Farmer.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel Lawson of the home; one daughter, Sarah Imogene McMillan of Bassett; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roby "Jackie" Jackson of Martinsville and Allan "Tom" Posey of South Carolina; and three sisters, Sue Wyatt of Axton, Judy Strong of Florida and Edna Mae Bagwell of South Carolina.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bassett Funeral Service with Dr. Tom McCann officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of a granddaughter, Crystal M. Darden, 316 Forest St., Martinsville.
