Alta May HAYES EVANS was born in Iowa, the first daughter of Alvin Clark Hayes(1875-1934) and Blanche Harvey (1885-1967). She was the first of nine children born to this couple. Her siblings included Vera Rachel (1911-1993), Alice Genevieve (1913-2006), Frances Blanche (1915 to ???Missing), Andrew Clark (1915-1986), Gertrude lOUISE (1918-1977), Lois Lillian (1920-2004), Leonard Benjamin (1921-1968) and Alberta Ann HAYES. Alta Married First William Arnold and had one son Leonard Arnold. She married second William Lyle Hills "Barney" Evans (1906-1973) and together they had two daughters Grace Ellawyn (1934-2013) and Frances Adeline "Addie" (1935-2002). Alta had one more child Leonard Arnold - no information available.
Alta traveled from Iowa to Oklahoma and Morrison, Minnesota with her parents. By the age of 26 she was in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and by 1940, married to Lyle "Barney" Evans. They lived in Omaha in 1949, and she died in 1968. She is buried next to her husband Barney
