Vivian Viola Guard, 97, of Arcadia, FL passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at DeSoto Memorial Hospital in Arcadia, FL. She was born on April 22, 1921 in Clifton, IL, the daughter of Horace and Rosa Belle (Grissom) Loy. She married Lowell Arthur Hill in Kentland, IN on December 21, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1940. She later married Lowell Wonder Guard in Fayette, NC on July 27, 1944 and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2001. In addition, she was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Elmer Durl, Harold, and Robert Loy; one sister, Velma Petree; and one daughter, Linda Schafroth.

Surviving are three sons, Lowell Dean (Susan) Hill of Fort Myers, FL, Richard (Linda) Guard of Wauchula, FL, and Larry (Connie) Guard of Fort Myers, FL; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Guard lived in Arcadia, FL for more than 30 years. She attended the Nazarene Church in Florida and Prairieview Bible Church in Watseka. Vivian enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and the art of Swedish weave.

A private graveside memorial will take place at a later date at Iroquois Memorial Park in Watseka.

Cremation rites have been accorded by the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, IL.
