BURNETTE, MICHAEL RAY - 44, of Strawberry Plains, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 after a long struggle with PTSD. He was a member of Marbledale Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Navy and Marines. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl Burnette, Lowery and Gladys Hickman. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Burnette; children, Jesse, Toby and Hileaha Burnette; grandson, Jhaisaya; parents, Buddy and Sharon Burnette; grandmother, Stella Burnette; brother, Brad (Missy) Burnette; special aunt and uncle, Janice and David Whaley; mother in law, Delores Ortiz; several nieces, nephews, sisters in law, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Marbledale Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur Pedigo and Rev. Randy Troutman officiating. Interment 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
