Allen Brownlow, age 81, and his wife Anna Belle Brownlow, age 81, both of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Southridge Village Nursing Center in Heber Springs. Mr. Brownlow was born in Oil Trough, Arkansas, on

June 9, 1926, and he was the son of the late William Albert and Myrtle (Akins) Brownlow . Mrs. Brownlow was born in Bradford, Arkansas, on November 4, 1926, and she was the daughter of the late Sparrel Barney and Stella Mae (Williamson) Mulvaney.

Mr. and Mrs. Brownlow were married on February 18, 1950, and they recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Residents of Little Rock for 50 years, Mr. and Mrs. Brownlow were the owners and operators of Brownlow Gulf, a gas station in Little Rock. Mr. Brownlow was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. Mrs. Brownlow was a homemaker, and her religious belief was Methodist. He was Baptist. They had been residents of Heber Springs for three and a half years. In addition to their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brownlow were preceded in death by one son, Gregory Allen Brownlow. Mr. Brownlow was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, Russell, Charles, and Samuel Brownlow; and one sister, Hazel Schol. Mrs. Brownlow was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

They are survived by one daughter, Dianne Jones and husband, David, of Heber Springs; two grandsons, Scott Jones of Conway and Ben Jones of Little Rock. Mr. Brownlow is also survived by one brother, Edward Brownlow of Mabelvale; four sisters, Barbara Looney and husband, Bill, of Oil Trough, Mary Robbins and husband, Don, of Little Rock, Evelyn Roberson of Barstow, California, and Ruth Whitmire of Garland, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brownlow is also survived by her nephew, Kenneth Heffington of Little Rock. The Brownlows are survived by other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Dr. David Bush and Rev. Charle Cayton. Entombment will be at a later date in the Pinecrest Memorial Park near Little Rock. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. www.olmstead.cc
