H. Francis Klein, 86, of Liberty, died Sunday morning, September 29, 2013, at Sycamore Springs Nursing Center, Liberty.

A native and lifelong resident of Union County, Francis was born September 11, 1927, to Fred and Ethel McMahan Klein. He attended Union County schools and served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Francis was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He remodeled houses and had the ability to fix anything. He had been employed part time selling real estate and had worked from 1975 to 1993 as a Union County school bus driver. Francis loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and attending their activities.

Francis is survived by his sister: Kathryn Barnard and a brother: Donald Klein, both of Liberty; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Evelyn Klein, Lloyd Klein, Hazel Glaub and Herschel Klein.

Public graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Sims Section of New Fairfield Cemetery, Franklin County, with Pastor Kerry O'Brien of the Central United Methodist Church, Richmond, officiating.. Friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty.
