2pDavid P. Harrison Sr., 77, of Chenoa passed away at 9:52 am on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at his residence in Chenoa.

Funeral Services will be 11 am, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Chenoa United Methodist Church with Pastor Carrie Carnes officiating. Interment will follow in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa with full military rites by the Chenoa VFW and American Legion.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:30 pm, Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. A Masonic Service will take place at 7:30 pm at the conclusion of the visitation on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to, Chenoa United Methodist Church or OSF Hospice.

Dave was born October 17, 1935 in Lexington, the son of Thomas H. and Mary (Payne) Harrison. He married Evon Jones on January 10, 1959 in Shepherdsville, KY. She survives in Chenoa. Other survivors include, his two sons, David (Linda) Harrison Jr. of Lexington; Terry (Jeanette) Harrison of Chenoa; two brothers, Bill (Juanita) Harrison of Chenoa; Joe (Janet) Harrison of Bloomington; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Thomas, Stephanie and Paul Harrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, one sister and one son, Randy Harrison in 1988.

Dave served our country in the US Army and was a 32nd Degree Mason, a 50 year pin holder and lifetime member of the Chenoa Masonic Lodge #292. He was a member of Chenoa United Methodist Church and Pontiac Elk's Club.

Mr. Harrison was owner-operator of Harrison Transport of Chenoa and was passionate about farming in the Chenoa area for nearly 50 years and traveling with his family. Dave loved his wife and family, his grandchildren were his life, supporting them in all their activities. He was an avid Chenoa Redbird, PC Hawks and Lexington Minutemen H.S. football fan. His quick wit and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
