She died circa 1856-1858. Her death year of 1853 is incorrect as inscribed on her marker, as her daughter, Harriet (Annie) Anderson was born in 1854 (from her own cemetery record & grave marker as well as the 1860 census on which she is age 5 and living with her father & her siblings in Pontotoc County, Mississippi). At one time, it was presumed that her father may have remarried after Sarah's death in 1853, but Annie's cemetery record states she was the daughter of Ben & Sarah Anderson and her father has no 2nd wife on the 1860 census. In addition there is a record that Sarah had another daughter, Fanny, who was born circa 1856 and died before 1860.
