He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Force as a B17 engineer mechanic. During his years in active service, Charles received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars & the Distinguished Flying Cross. Charlie was formerly employed at Taccone Corporation in Erie, as a plant manager for over 20 years, and enjoyed volunteering at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Charlie was an active member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his wife Marianne Amenta Sherrange (October, 22, 2008) and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Paul Sherrange, and sisters, Mary Ann Post and Josephine Muscarella.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela S. Duggan of Grand Island, N.Y. and Valerie A. Crofoot of North East; a brother, Angelo J. Sherrange of Albany N.Y.; a sister, Sarah Lariccia of Erie; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and brother & sisters-in-law.
Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
