Maria Louisa Davison married Isaac Fontaine Hite on 28 Apr 1829 in Frederick County, Virginia by Rev. J. E. Jackson, Minister.

Her mother, Martha Maria (SMITH) DAVISON died from a horse back riding accident which happened on her way to her sister's wedding when it started to rain, she raised her umbrella causing her horse to rear up. She struck a limb which knocked her off the horse.
She was taken to "Ambler Hill" where she died.
It is said that her parents, General John and Anna (BULL) SMITH helped to raise her children after the death of their mother.
