Pioneer Woman Mrs. Aspenes Passes to Rest.

Mrs. A. K. Aspenes, widely-known pioneer lady, whose late home is located on the farm opposite Skudesness church, 18 miles northeast of Camrose and in the vicinity of Holden, passed away quietly at her home Tuesday Morning, October 22. She was 76 years old. Her maiden name was Kornelia Henningsen and she was born in Karlstad paa Molselven, Norway, 1863. Her Marriage to A. K. Aspenes, took place on July 28, 1888. Their golden wedding was the occasion of a dinner and lawn party when Rev. Falkeid and Rev. Trygstad were the speakers, and there was a musical program. The three sons are William, Eivold and Finvald. A daughter Mrs. Olson, predeceased her mother in 1924.

Mr. and Mrs Aspenes came out to Stoughton, Wis., from Jromso, Norway, in 1893, moving 12 years later to Daisy, N. D., and from there to this part of Alberta taking up farmland near Ohaton. In 1928 they bought the farm opposite Skudesness church.

Funeral service will be held in Skudesness church Thursday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m.
