1st.Lt.Michael W. Young died Nov.30th,1991 after the A-7 fighter jet he piloted went down in Lake Huron near Huron City, Michigan. Young of Perrysburg, Ohio was a pilot with the 180th Technical Fighter Group from Toledo, Ohio Air National Guard when he was killed. He reportedly was able to parachute out of the aircraft but was unable to escape the wind gusts that pulled his parachute into the 38 degree water. A lengthy search of the area by local residents, police officers and marine patrols failed to find his body.
