LOUISE BUCHANAN, 86, of Monticello, Ind., died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette, Ind. Born July 18, 1920 in Mitchell, Ind., the daughter of the late Harold Van Cleave and Artie Russell. On June 24, 1945 she married John W. Buchanan, in Bedford, Ind. She lived in the Monticello community since 1945, coming here from the Mitchell/Bedford area. She loved working gigsaw puzzles and enjoyed gardening. She especially enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a loving wife and mother who spent her life taking care of her family. Surviving are daughters, Mary L. Buchanan of Monticello, Ind. and Jo (Special friend Dan McGlothlin) Thomas of Fort Wayne; sisters, Bernadine Harrell of Port St. Luck, Fla., Betty and Marshall Nikirk of Paducah, Fla. and Barbara Blackwell of Mitchell, Ind.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. No Visitation or Service. Burial in I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemtery, Monticello.
