Elmer F. Baeckmann, 48, of 724 South 20th street, lifelong city resident, died
Sunday night at the Holy Family hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Johns Evangelical
church, the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Baeckmann was born in this city in 1897 and in 1923 married Miss Ellen Stern.
He was employed as a painter and decorator.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter (Survivor omitted for privacy.) of this city;
brother, Charles of Newton; four sisters, Mrs. Herman Carstens and Mrs. Mabel
Duca of this city, Mrs. Lydia Henrickson of Waukesha and Mrs. Reinhard Lange of
route 1, Manitowoc.
The body may be viewed at the Pfeffer funeral home after noon Tuesday and will
be moved to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday to lie in state until the hour of
the services.
