History of Mower County 1911:
Mrs. Carll is the daughter of John and Martha (McIntyre) Bartlett, the former a native of Vermont and the latter of Plattsburg, N.Y. They came west to Wisconsin, Iowa County, remained there a short time and then moved to Richland County, to the village of Lonerock, where Mrs. Joseph D. Carll [Mary], was born. Two of the sons, brothers of Mrs. Joseph D. Carll are Gregory W. of Bison, S.D. and Frank L., now a resident of the state of Washington.
