Barbara Ann Canady, 80, died September 19, 2013 in Molalla. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 24th, at 2:00 pm at Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn.

Barbara was born on December 16, 1932, in Kansas, to Ralph and Maxine Cordel. Her family moved to Oregon when she was young, and she spent the remainder of her life here. She had an older sister, Marge Robinson, who preceded her in death, and a younger sister, Lorna Derrick, who resides in Woodburn.

Barbara graduated from high school in St. Helens, Oregon in 1950. She married Robert Canady in July of 1950. They had three children. Michael Canady, age 63, is a resident of Woodburn, and Dennis Canady, age 52, resides in the Seattle Area. Her son Randy Canady passed away in February of 2003. The children were raised in Salem and Woodburn. Barbara is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Barbara enjoyed camping and travelling with her family. One of her favorite destinations was the Oregon Coast. She was an avid reader, an excellent cook, and a loving family matriarch. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Barbara received excellent care during her final years at Molalla Manor, in Molalla Oregon, where she became quite close to the staff and residents.
