OXFORD - PV2 William Christopher Johnson, 22, who was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Calvary Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team at Fort Riley, Kansas, was killed on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq. He was a member of Tabbs Creek Baptist Church.

A memorial service, with full Military Honors, will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Tabbs Creek Baptist Church. A private entombment will be held by the family at a later date.

He is survived by his parents, William E. and Rhonda Richards Johnson; his wife, Megan Dee McClanathan Johnson; and his paternal grandparents, Jerry T. and Helen H. Johnson.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the home of his parents at 4282 Tommie Sneed Road, Oxford, N.C., in the Antioch Community.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Megan Johnson Trust Fund for Baby Johnson, Capital Bank, P.O. Box 528, Oxford, NC 27565.
