This grave was originally in the Kitts Cemetery near Bee Run upstream from Sutton. Only two graves were found in the cemetery (No 17) and relocated by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1959/60 to the brand new Braxton County Memorial Cemetery prior to the completion of the Dam. The original site was rendered inaccessible at the completion of the dam and recreation area.
