Shelby Henry Cochran, 90, of Moweaqua, formerly of Mount Zion and Macon, died 11:40 p.m. Tuesday (March 19, 2002) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery.
Mr. Cochran was born April 24, 1911, in Mount Auburn, the son of Dick and Mildred Rutherford Cochran. He worked at Houdille-Hershey Co. in Decatur for several years and later farmed near Mount Zion. He was a devoted husband and father. He married Juanita Pauline Reed Nov. 5, 1932, in Mount Auburn.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Vern and wife Dorothy of Escondido, Calif.; Larry and wife Judy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters, Janice and husband Howard of Macon; Shelby Joanne and husband David of Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; three great-great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, two brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
