Betty Lou Pickinpaugh, 70, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 1991 in a Wheatridge hospital following a long illness. She was the daughter of George and Lottie Benham. After graduation from Douglas High School in 1938, she went on to receive her state teaching certificate. On April 15, 1939, she married Avon "Bud" Pickinpaugh in Hot Springs, S.D. and remained his wife for 43 years until the time of her death. She is survived by three daughters, Melba Douglas and Barbara Bowen, both of Denver, and DeEtta Watson of Seattle, Wash.; one son, Ronald Pickinpaugh of Nebraska; one sister, Esther McKee of Douglas; one brother, Jim Benham of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; many nieces, nephews; and an abundance of friends.
