WALTER L STECKER

Walter L. Stecker, 89, of W338 Charlesburg Rd., New Holstein, formerly of Sheboygan, died Friday night, March 4, at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton after a brief illness.
He was born December 30, 1898, in the Town of Schleswig, son of the late William and Anna (Steinberg) Stecker. He attended grade school in Rockville and also took a business course at Mission House.
On Jan. 10, 1922 he married Olga Mahlberg at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. He was a cheese maker for many years in the De. Pete area, then for 14 years the couple owned and operated the Commercial Hotel in Kiel. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1965. His wife died April 5, 1984. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel.
Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Roland (Anne) of Greendale and Walter E. (Dolly of Milwaukee, two daughters, Mrs. John (Marlea) Lenchek of New Berlin and Mrs. Peter (Betty) Dorn of New Holstein, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral mass will be at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, Rev. Thomas Leannah, pastor, officiating. Burial at the church cemetery.
