Robert O. Simms was born on May 7, 1895, in Heartwell, Kearney County, Nebraska. The son of William Harrison Simms Jr. and Nettie Mae Edwards. Robert was one of two children born to William and Nettie; he had a half-brother William Harrison Simms III, a half-sister Ella Mae Simms and a brother Oscar David Simms. He married Olive Isabell Fullerton in 1915 in Nebraska. They had three children during their marriage. Nettie Doris, born in Lodgepole, Nebraska, a son Lloyd William who died shortly after birth, and is buried at the foot of Robert's wife's sister Iva's grave on the prairies of Nebraska. By the 1920's Robert, Wife and Daughter migrated to Logan County Colorado for a short time and then migrated to Seattle, Washington where Norma Darlene was born. They made their home in the Fremont District, Seattle Washington. He worked for the Burke Mill in Fremont for 32 years. Robert was a wonderful father, and loved his girl's tremendously. On weekends Robert loved dancing and working at Burt Lingren's Dance Hall in Kenmore, Washington. He died on November 25, 1956, in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 61.
