Kenneth Lee Looney, 85, of Greeneville, passed away Friday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Looney served in the U.S. Navy and was a longtime member of the Greeneville Moose Lodge.

He loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening, camping, and "being on the go." He had a special companion, his poodle "Sassy."

Survivors include his children and their spouses: Debbie and Earl Hardin and Fran and Kyle Smith; his grandchildren and their spouses: Lee and Michelle Shelton, Holly and David Brooks, Michael and Sunshine Shelton, Sheri and Randy Lamons, Alex Cansler, Deena and Eddie Cornblum, Christy and Tony Shelton, Dexter Smith, and Brett and Megan Smith; his great-grandchildren and spouses: Chelsey Carpenter, Madison Shelton, Nicholas Horner, Dallas and Michael Ball, Dillon Brooks, Dalton Brooks, Peyton Shelton, Parker Shelton, Jordan Lamons, Jonah Lamons, Alek Cansler, Morgan Cansler, Katlyn Austin, Tarran Cornblum, Cooper Cornblum, Kristen Shelton, Jared Shelton, Zack Shelton, Brynlee Smith, Colton Smith, and Bayler Smith; three sisters: Dorothy Alexander, Donelle Scarboro, and Etha Kilday; his sisters-in-law: Evelyn Mooneyhan and Frances Johnson; one aunt: Louise Brooks; one uncle: William "Boss" Looney; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends, including Don and Lynn Malone, friends from Amy's Kitchen, Dr. Joe Scott and his staff, Tad and Connie of Locust Springs Christian Retreat, the staff of Amedisys Hospice, and many others.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years: Georgia Looney; grandson: Anthony Shelton; great-granddaughter: Kayla Shelton; parents: Ezra and Selma Looney; and infant brother: Teddy Joe Looney.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of God, 1505 W. Main St., Greeneville. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church. Pastor Gerald Rudd will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Locust Springs Christian Retreat.

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
