Sandra J. Carpenter, age 74, of Moscow, IA, died on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Carrington Place in Muscatine, IA.
Sandy was born June 21, 1939 to Edwin "Ted" and Grace "Evelyn" (Gritton) Elliott in Muscatine, IA. She attended Muscatine Community Schools and married Kenneth "Doc" Carpenter in 1958 in Iowa City, IA, they later divorced.
Sandy retired from Louis Rich in West Liberty, IA. She later was the director of the Wilton Senior Mealsite until 2012.
She enjoyed working with crafts and playing bingo. Above all, she loved her family and the time she spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her great granddaughter Lily May Martin.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 2-4 P.M. at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, IA.
Services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, IA.
Sandy requested casual attire for the visitation and service.
Interment will take place at the Melpine Cemetery, Muscatine County, IA.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or the Wilton Senior Mealsite in her memory.
