Was born at sea near Dorchester. Note that Dorchester was originally in Norfolk County at the time. It later became part of Suffolk Co., MA.

Buried at 24 Charter St. Charter Cemetery (Is this cemetery gone now, paved over??)

Died of Consumption.

Samuel Vose's parents were William VOSE 1718-1778 and Hannah PEAKE 1725-1815.

Samuel VOSE married Hannah DAVIS on 10 Nov 1804.

They had the following children:

1. Samuel VOSE, aka Charles Lightburn or Lightbourne VOSE 1805-1884
(NOTE: His birth name was Samuel Vose until 9 March 1831, when by Act of Legislature it was changed to Charles Lightburn Vose. Source: "Robert Vose and his Descendants" by Ellen F. Vose] Charles Lightbourne Vose was mentioned in D.A.R. records.

2. Mary Davis VOSE Crafts 1811-1887

3. Eliza Ann VOSE Randolph 1813-1882
