OBITUARY :
EARL BRUCE REID, 72, of Sharpsburg, Md., died, Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born Aug. 4, 1941, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Paul C. and Mary E. Hart Reid.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Earl retired from Pangborn Corp. after 36 years of service.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church.

He was a life member of the Red Men, and also a member of the Western Maryland Sportsmen's Club, Waynesboro Fish and Game Club, Rattle Run Hunting Club and Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and being outside and tending to his animals. His daily loop around the neighborhood was to talk to his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne M. Reid; a son, Robert E. Reid; four sisters, Elizabeth Miles, Lolita Divelbiss, Roselyn Welch and Faye Hose; and one brother, Maurice L. Reid.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Reid and Roy A. Reid.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Steven McCarty will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery of Clear Spring.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
