Geneva worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City and also at the Tuscumbia Hospital. She retired in 1984 after many years of dedicated service to her patients. She was a member of the Christian Faith. Geneva loved to crochet and she adored her dogs who were like her children. Most of all she loved her children grandchldre, and great grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Geneva is also survived by three grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, Jesse Hentges and husband Randy and their children,Kadence, Hunter and Harper Hentges of Jefferson City Josh Varnell and wife Nicole of Kalamazoo MI. and Rachael Fielder and husband lan and their children, Elyse Fielder of Ft Benning Ga. one sister, Rayma Nixdorf and husband Bob of Iberia Mo. one brother, Mark Sooter Jr. and wife Katie of Eldon. Mo. Geneva was also preceded in death by four sons, Mickey Ray Varnell, Terry Varnell, Kenneth Varnell and ark Varnell and one sister, Lorraine Whittaker.
Friends will be received from 5-7p.m. Monday September 20, 2013 at the Houser Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 4;30p.m. with Deacon Steve Kliethermes officiating. Graveside sevices will held at 10;30a.m. Tuesday October 1, 2013 at the Mount ZionCemetery near Tuscumbia, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, epressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer Association or to the family of Geneva Varnell.
