She attended country schools and St. John's German Confirmation School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Elkton.
Her marriage to John Wohlers took place Sept. 1, 1915 in Austin, Minn. They were engaged in farming and moved to Dexter, Minn., in 1964, then to Austin in 1967.
After her husband's death, Mrs. held housekeeping jobs in Austin and Rochester, Minn. She resided at 104 1st St SW, until moving to the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar, Iowa, in 1984. She joined Dexter Methodist Church in 1933, later transferring to Faith United Methodist Church, Austin. She was an active member of both churches and sang with the choirs.
Mrs. Wohlers lived a long life and touched many lives. She loved music, her home, family, church, relatives and friends. Blessed be her memory.
Mrs. Wohlers died at 5:45 p.m. March 3, 1987, at the Good Samaritan Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn Smith, rural Lyle; Donna Overton, San Bernardino, Calif.; five grandchildren, Roger Smith, Orinda, Calif.; Dean Smith, Sacramento, Calif.; Laurie and Lynne Hawkins, Lisa Garcia, San Bernardino; one greatgrandaughter, Sarah Garcia; a sister; four sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; two infant children; six brothers; five sisters.
