Clarence W. Schaft, 63, of 914 S. 12th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday evening at his home following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 am Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc and at 9 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Pierre Van Groll officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The deceased was born in Saginaw, Mich., Jan. 19, 1894, son of the late Walter and Anna Hand Schaft. Later he moved to Manitowoc where he married the former Inga Mrotek June 5, 1914. The couple resided in Manitowoc. Prior to his illness three years ago he was employed at the Manitowoc Gray Iron Foundry. He was a member of the Foundry Workers Local No. 301.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Thielen and Mrs. Ellis Clayton of Manitowoc; four sisters, Mrs. Leo Stock of Clarkston, Mich., Mrs. Bernard Ofstedal of Hemlock, Mich., Mrs. Alfred Smith of Smith Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Martha Sander of Saginaw, Mich.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death in 1947.

Friends may call after 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8:15 pm.
