He was the editor of "Magazin für evangelisch-lutherische Homiletik und Pastoraltheologie" from 1924 to 1926, "Theological Monthly" from 1926 to 1930, co-editor of "Concordia Theological Monthly" from 1930 to 1938 and managing editor from 1938 to 1949.
He wrote numerous books and articles, his most widely known being a "A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament".
