Maude Irene Darner
GARDEN CITY – Maude Irene Darner, 91, died April 17, 1992, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City.
She was born Nov. 24, 1900, at Richmond, the daughter of L.B. and Florence Beard Staley. She graduated from the Wilcox School of Cosmetology, Dodge City. A Garden City resident since 1936, she was a beauty operator.
She was a member of the McKelvey-Darner Cosmetology Affiliate Association, the advisory board for the school of cosmetology at Garden City Community College, the Soptimist Club, the Women's Chamber of Commerce, was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 9 and the First United Methodist Church, all at Garden City, and was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Scott City.
Survivors include: two daughters, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Garmand Funeral Home, Garden City. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Memorials may be sent to the School of Cosmetology at Garden City Community College or to the First United Methodist Church, both in care of the funeral home.
